AUTHOR BIO

Maxine Billings is a native of Villa Rica, GA.  She lives in Temple, GA with her husband Tony and their son.  She is the proud mother of two children, daughter Natasha and son Stefan.  Maxine also works full-time as a Program Assistant for the Department of Juvenile Justice and has been employed with the State of Georgia for almost 27 years.

Maxine has enjoyed reading and writing as far back as she can remember.  During her summer vacations from school, she joined the reading program at the local library and spent most of her time reading.  She also likes writing poetry.  In the tenth grade, one of her poems was published in a school anthology.  She liked writing so much that she always wrote more on school assignments than what the teacher required.  One of her cousins used to tease her profusely because she always wrote so much when he only wrote what the class was told and got the same grade as her–an A.  When he found out that she had become a published author, he told her he was glad to see that all that writing she used to do finally paid off.

Maxine loves to read and write wholesome stories that inspire people in positive ways and give them hope.  She desires that people of various ages read her stories.  Her next venture is to write women’s fiction and fictional stories for young adults.

When Maxine isn’t writing, she loves spending time in spiritual activities and with her family.  She  loves to dance and listen to Jazz and R & B music.  She also likes container gardening.

Maxine is the author of four  inspirational fiction novels:  A MEASURE OF FAITH, A TEST OF FAITH, A HEALING OF THE HEARTS (of the THICKER THAN WATER anthology), and THE BREAKING POINT.  Her next book, TIME FOR HOPE, will be released in August, 2007.  Her next anthology, GOSPEL & LACE, is due for release in October, 2007.  The title of her story will be ONE OF A KIND.
